The Place de la Concorde

The Place de la Concorde, also known as the heart of Paris, is the place to visit for historical monuments, such as the 3300-year old Obelisque, buildings and beautiful fountains. Home to famous works of art like Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and Madonna on the Rocks, is none other than the magnificent Louvre Museum. Dos and Don'ts

Customs and etiquette while visiting Paris deserve some attention. When walking it is advisable to keep eye contact to a minimum. If someone catches your eye and smiles, a blank expression is the best response: returning a stranger’s smile equates to an “invitation.” While sight-seeing, it is recommended that one keep his or her voice at a low pitch, and their enthusiasm politely curbed. Discreet Parisians become easily annoyed with the high spirits and exuberance of tourists, and will raise an eyebrow or heave a deep sigh to express their displeasure.
